This series contains volume one and two of the Korean Armistice Agreement, as well as the Temporary Agreement Supplementary to the Armistice Agreement, each in English, Korean, and Chinese. This series includes agreements, supplements, and maps. The Armistice Agreement was negotiated between the Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, Kim Il Sung, the Commander in Chief of the United Nations Command, Mark W. Clark, and the Commander of the Chinese People's Volunteers, Peng Teh-Huai to bring a complete cessation of hostilities and all acts of armed force in Korea until a permanent peace treaty could be achieved. The Korean Armistice Agreement provided for the establishment of the Demilitarized Zone, established terms for the repatriation of prisoners of war, and restored the border between North and South Korea along a Military Demarcation Line along the 38th parallel north.

Mark Wayne Clark (1896-1984) was born in Madison Barracks, New York. After he graduated from West Point in 1917, he commissioned in the infantry. During World War I, he became wounded in combat while commanding a battalion in France. He served with the War Department General Staff from 1921 to 1924.
